Autoruns

Shows all the programs scheduled to run with Windows startup.

The quantity of things that have to be loaded, launched or activated during the system startup is really amazing. With Autoruns, one of the small utilities of Sysinternals that Microsoft offers to  administrators and those with advanced computing knowledge we will be able to know exactly what happens when Windows starts.

  Autoruns is a small executable that basically checks in the place where the applications register to be launched, and it presents them in an organized way. Thus, we will be able to distinguish between drivers, libraries or executables, and make sure that everything works properly, or even find out where some virus may be starting, if is being launched with the system. Autoruns also allows to modify Windows services, Explorer complements and program tasks.

  It is important to stress that by using Autoruns, we will access a critical part of the system, because if Windows doesn't start correctly, it could become unstable.
